Emancipation to the Inauguration

Emancipation to the Inauguration

Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

"Going to Chicago!" were the words composed, sung, and lived by African Americans during the Great Migration. From share-cropper to share-holder and from the shotgun shack to the White House, Our Town's Black Experience is vast, rich, and inspiring, pre-dating the Migration by some 150 years. Join musician/historian Clarence Goodman as he takes us on a virtual tour of Chicago and its pivotal role in Black History.

Clarence Goodman's travels have taken him across many musical and historical landscapes. He is a veteran of the stage, studio and road, and has been called the best tour guide in Chicago, having worked with Chicago Trolley Company and Weird Chicago Tours. He is the proprietor of C Chicago Tours.
