Fire Truck Saftey Display
The Mokena Community Public Library District and the Mokena Fire Protection District have come together in a joint venture. A “Fire Truck Safety Display” was designed, built and equipped by firefighters working with community volunteers and library staff. It is a replica Fire Truck equipped with book shelves displaying print materials, informational flyers and a television/VCR/DVD to display informational tapes focusing on fire safety.
The Mokena Fire Protection District firefighters who participated in the building and design of the truck are:
Jerry Johnson, Fire and Safety Educator and member of the Mokena Fire Protection District designed the concept origination
Fire Chief Ted Golden, Assistant Chief Howard Stephens and Mark Stickles, Fire Prevention Officer, each of whom gave their support and input.
