2011 Summer Reading Fun at Mokena Community Public Library District

JUNE 9-JULY 29, 2011

 

It’s time for a little Rest, Relaxation, & Reading. Children, Teens and Adults, there will be something special for everyone! Registration begins for all on Thursday, June 9, 2011 and continues throughout the program.   

 

·         Children’s Summer Reading Program, "A Midsummer Knight’s Read"  All Ages through Grade 8h – Don’t wait too long to sign up, because the prizes and programs begin June 14th and end July 29th.  Participants in the program are encouraged to read and record their minutes. As a reward, prizes are given for each reading log completed. The more you read, the more prizes you earn! Join the club at the library and receive your book bag, reading log, bookmark and entry form. Seven weeks of Great programs are scheduled. Enjoy art, music, magic, and more. Even a visit from Sir Randall in his suit of armor . *In order to participate in summer reading programs, you must join the reading club

·         Join the High School "You Read" Summer Reading Program – It’s full of prizes and programs for Grades 9-12.  Rewards for reading all your favorite titles include movie passes, I-tunes gift card, Bag of Swag and Cash $$$ for the top reader.   Participate in the bags tournament, lock-in, photo contest and movie night for fun and extra reading credit towards prizes. 

 

 

·         Join our Adult Summer Reading Program "Rest, Relax, & Read" - It is open to those 18 years of age or older, excluding Library Employees and Trustees. Participants must read a  minimum of four books to be eligible for special prizes. Prizes will be awarded for four books, ten books, twenty books, and thirty books read.  A Grand Prize will be awarded to the person reading the most books in the seven week period of time. Join the adult summer reading program at the library and receive a reading log and entry form.

18 and Over with a Busy Schedule, Don’t Have Time to Read 4 Books? Well, you still have a chance to win a PRIZE from our treasure chest. For each book that you read during our Adult Summer Reading Program time frame, you can bring in your book log to be stamped and choose a key that may unlock and open our treasure chest of great prizes.

 

 

Friday, July 29th, 2011 - Last day for Summer Reading Programs.  All Book logs due by 6:00 p.m.
